Teaming up with XamVolo, Tee Soulful and Danny Casio, Little Grace release their compelling new single, mixing modern electronica with classic soul.

Northern R&B three-piece, Little Grace, release their fourth single Silence today (17th May).

Teaming up with friends, producers and songwriters XamVolo, Tee Soulful and Danny Casio, the band have created a delicate and impactful track

Little Grace have a unique place in the burgeoning northern R&B scene. Though influenced by R&B, the trio have worked with the likes of drum & bass producer TC and DJ Robin Schulz. This expands their pallet and though thoroughly contemporary – especially in their production – there is an old skool, soulful element to them that is probably best exemplified through their songwriting. At their core, they’re just great songs and, despite the production, they would work just as well acoustically.

Silence is a great example of this. Though a modern sounding song that is heavy on the electronica, there are parts of the that bring to mind a nostalgic glow from the past. Those backing vocals, for example, are reminiscent of legendary soul groups such as The Temptations.

Lyrically, the song deals with a modern society defined by distractions, especially where technology is concerned (which makes the heavy electronica all the more appropriate). The silence in question is the moment of reprieve from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where information never stops. There is such thing as an overload, and as the song says, “I’m gonna take my own advice, and hold the silence”.

It’s a compelling track, but it isn’t pure R&B.  Little Grace have carved out a unique sound of their own.
