Robert Plant Announces Liverpool Olympia Gig And New Album Carry Fire
Robert Plant will play Liverpool’s Olympia as part of UK & Irish tour this autumn in support of his new album Carry Fire.
Robert Plant and the Space Shifters have announced a 15 date autumn tour in support of their forthcoming album Carry Fire, including a live show at the Liverpool Olympia.
Due to be released on 13th October Carry Fire, produced by Plant himself, will be his 11th studio release but his first full length album since 2014’s incredible Lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar.
As with his previous release, Plant is supported by The Sensational Space Shifters made up of John Baggott, Justin Adams, Dave Smith, Liam “Skin” Tyson plus a trio of appearances from Seth Lakeman who will accompany them on tour.
Robert Plant and the Space Shifters are also joined on the record by a number of special guests including The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde and acclaimed Albanian cellist Redi Hasa.
Speaking about Carry Fire Plant says, “It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation”.
Tickets for his tour including Liverpool and Manchester dates go on general sale on August 25th with pre-sale ticket options available from www.robertplant.com.
