Out of Context celebrate their first birthday with three of the city’s finest R&B and hip hop acts.  Out of Context have announced the line-up for the first anniversary of their debut show as promoters, with a stellar line up featuring MC Nelson, KYAMI and Blue Saint.

The company have enjoyed a solid first year on the Liverpool scene, including a string of sell-out shows featuring the likes of SPXKEN, Deliah, XamVolo, SUB BLUE and Raheem Alameen.

Most recently, Planet Slop collaborated with them, showcasing Shak Omar, Remée and Jazmine Johnson in the city.

KYAMI is an alternative R&B/hip hop singer-songwriter and producer was born in New York, but is based in Liverpool and cites Anderson .Paak and SZA among her biggest influences. She has the ability to create sweet melodies with variety in her sound, ranging from smooth lofi beats to quirky, progressive lyrics, and was recently featured as a “Most Ready” artist in the LIMF Academy Class of 2018.

Blue Saint, meanwhile, is a Congolese and British, Liverpool-based rapper, singer-songwriter, designer, poet, spoken word artist and producer that blends hip hop, R&B and electronic music. He was something of a prodigy, as part of Writing on the Wall’s Liverpool Young Writers from the age of 12 and most astonishingly a MOBO nominee at the age of 15. He has performed gigs alongside UK massive UK artists such as Ed Sheeran, Plan B, Wretch 32 and Akala as well as Jerry Dammers of The Specials and spoken word artist Saul Williams.

The previously announced MC Nelson has unfortunately had to pull out of the performance, however he has been replaced by two incredible talents.

Jazmine Johnson recently appeared at XamVolo‘s Art of Dffrnce – the 19 year old songstress who sits somewhere between Allen Stone and Lauryn Hill, fusing rhythmical soulful melodies with raw lyrics to create the heartfelt emotions that ooze throughout her songs. Finally Henrio‘s intimate and sensitive voice combines with harmonically rich songs influenced by the folk and jazz.

It’s set to be an incredible night that is not to be missed, especially if Out of Context’s past events are anything to go by.

Out of Context’s first birthday takes place on Friday 2nd November at 81 Renshaw.  Tickets are available now (click here).
