Liverpool Music Week Add Dawn Penn, Jungle, Everything Everything & More To 2017 Bill
An incredible second wave of acts is shaping LMW 2017 as the best yet.
As if the first wave of acts for Liverpool Music Week – headed by Nile Rodgers & Chic – wasn’t tantalising enough, the second wave has just set our tongues wagging even more.
Perhaps the most exciting visitors from the new wave for Planet Slop would be London neo-soul outfit Jungle, who announce their long-awaited resurrection in the cavernous industrial surroundings of Invisible Wind Factory. Meanwhile Liverpool Music Week have got a little help from Positive Vibration with Jamaican reggae legend Dawn Penn gracing the stage at District.
London trio Kero Kero Bonito take their J-pop and dancehall inspired indie pop to the stage at Heebie Jeebies, and down in the Baltic Triangle, Abstract Orchestra will be keeping 24 Kitchen Street’s hip hop credentials burning brightly.
Elsewhere, Dan Croll returns to his familiar university-days stomping grounds with his heartfelt songbook at the Arts Club Theatre, and Black Mass brings his brooding, bleak electronica to 24 Kitchen Street.
Finally, Manchester natives Everything Everything will headline the Liverpool Music Week at the Guild of Students, taking over four rooms in the building.
When taking into account the already announced acts playing Music Week, from Childhood to Princess Nokia, this is shaping up to be their strongest line-up yet. It is a fitting way to celebrate an astonishing 15 years.
