Liverpool Mental Health Festival takes place across two weeks in October with a range of events.

Liverpool Mental Health Festival is back from October 1st till October 14th with its biggest and best programme of events so far.

The 8th year of the event sees festival organisers Liverpool Mental Health Consortium team up with a host of partners including The Comedy Trust, We Make Places and Unity Theatre to bring you two weeks of exciting and inclusive events.

This years schedule makes the most of music, dance, comedy, circus, visual arts, creative writing, film, advice, workshops and more, ultimately creating a welcoming platform for people to come together and break down barriers though talking, creating, learning and having fun.

Currently around 65% of Liverpool residents who experience some kind of mental distress have no contact with services to assist them. Liverpool Mental Health Festival aims to bust the stigma surrounding mental illnesses and conditions, giving people the confidence to speak up when they’re not feeling well.

It all starts with laughs at a comedy night on Sunday 1st October. Other events on offer include a specially curated Art Exhibition at the Brink, a film night at FACT and varies as much as dog-walking and football tournaments.

The festival’s biggest public event takes place in Williamson Square on 7th October with local musicians and performers on show as well as plenty of food and drink.

The festival ends on Saturday 14th October with a final spectacular at Blackburne House where we’ve been promised festival food, fire and tribal drums, sounds good to us!
