LIMF 2019 Announce Disco Classical, Sister Sledge ft. Kathy Sledge
LIMF 2019 is going DISCO with a massive closing act.
As if Africa Oye’s announcement wasn’t enough, Liverpool International Music Festival have also revealed their first act of 2019.
This year will be closed by the unmissable live experience that is Disco Classical, featuring extra special guests in the form of the legendary Sister Sledge, Featuring Kathy Sledge. They will be bringing a 35 piece orchestra, some massive disco hits and a host of special guests to be announced.
Sister Sledge are one of the biggest selling girl groups of all time, coming to prominence in the late 70s, they released two unsuccessful albums before hooking up with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Fowler of Chic, who went on to produce a multitude of hits for the group, including; We Are Family, The Greatest Dancer, Lost In Music, Thinking of You and the UK number one smash Frankie.
Heralded as one the most memorable and uplifting live music experiences around, this will be the perfect party show as Kathy Sledge – the youngest member of Sister Sledge and lead vocalist on some of the group’s biggest hits re-imagines, reinvents these hits with the help of the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, a live band and renowned crowd-pleaser DJ Mark Armstrong.
The Disco Classical booking follows on from previous classical/pop events staged by LIMF, including last year’s Hacienda Classical and Garage Classical before that.
An amazing bill of acts for LIMF 2019 is yet to be announced, featuring some of the UK’s biggest stars and a wealth of local talent.
