Shak Omar, Remée and Jazmine Johnson will share the stage at 81 Renshaw next week with Planet Slop and Out of Context.

Next week, Planet Slop are staging a Liverpool R&B showcase with Out of Context featuring Shak Omar, Remée and Jazmine Johnson – and you could be there absolutely free!

All you have to do to enter is like and share the social media posts at the bottom of the page by the end of the week.

Equally, we are keen to make this an entirely Liverpool R&B affair, so if you are an artist in the city who performs R&B, soul, hip hop, grime or any sounds influenced by these genres, then submit your tracks to editotial@planetslop.co.uk and we will play your tunes between sets.

Jazmine Johnson will be opening up; a 19 year old songstress who sits somewhere between Allen Stone and Lauryn Hill. She fuses rhythmical soulful melodies with raw lyrics to create the heartfelt emotions that ooze throughout her songs.

Second on the bill is Remée, one of LIMF Academy’s “Most Ready” artists in 2017, and is noted for her R&B and neo soul vibes. She has not only been championed by BBC Introducing, but her debut single I’ve Got You led to her being BBC 1Xtra Introducing‘s Artist of the Week.

Closing the show will be Shak Omar, who we have covered many times on Planet Slop.

Omar started his journey as an MC named 4tune Tella, as comfortable rapping over smooth hip hop as he was dance tracks. Last year, he reinvented himself as Shak Omar, with a vocal direction leaning heavier towards melody and harmony than before.

Although his R&B influences are clear, you also get the feeling that his music couldn’t have come out of anywhere but Liverpool.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’re ensuring that we keep it a celebration of local talent by only playing tunes by Liverpool R&B and hip hop artists between acts.

Out of Context’s Danny Black says; “This line-up showcases some of the finest new and upcoming talent in Liverpool. It’s vibrant, it’s diverse and it’s fresh; which can also be said for the collaboration between Planet Slop and Out of Context. It’s a crossover between two entities that share similar vision.

I am very excited about working with Planet Slop, but also with this particular line-up. Shak Omar is absolutely killing it, Remée is one of my favourite artists in Liverpool at the moment and I really love Jazmine‘s style. I am excited to have them all play for us.”

Shak OmarRemée and Jazmine Johnson play 81 Renshaw on Friday 7th September 2018. Advance tickets are available from £5 by clicking here.

Submit your tracks to play between sets by emailing a download of the tracks to editotial@planetslop.co.uk .
