Preview: On The Corner at Constellations, Liverpool
A host of incredible modern jazz and soul artists are making their way to the first ever On The Corner in the Baltic Triangle, and Soulfultiz can hardly wait.
On The Corner is a brand new three day jazz festival landing on the corner of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, featuring some of the brightest new talent the UK has to offer.
A collaboration between several highly regarded Liverpool promoters, On The Corner brings together Constellations, Anti-Social Jazz Club, Melodic Distraction Radio, Wide Open, Madnice, No Fakin, BamBamBam and Down To Funk for an incredible weekend of music.
The event will launch on Friday 27th April with progressive jazz band, Vels Trio playing Madblib’s classic LP, Shades Of Blue.
Following this, Saturday will feature a whole host of incredible artists.
Headlining will be Fatima, a London based, Swedish soul singer who will performing alongside The Elgo Live Band. She will be playing songs from her forthcoming album Blue Note and her debut release, Yellow Memories, which was voted Album of the Year at Gilles Peterson’s 2015 Worldwide Awards.
Also championed by Peterson is Laura Misch – a producer, Saxophonist and singer whose one-woman show fuses jazz and electronic genres – and Yazmin Lacey, a Nottingham-based soul singer is a graduate of the Future Bubblers Programme.
Finally, Sunday will feature a great selection of pop-up food stalls, workshops and a record fair, all soundtracked with amazing music from incredible Liverpool based artists.
