The up and coming rapper follows up the sublime By The River in April.

MC Nelson has announced the premiere of his new video Stepmother will take place at the Lost Art Skate Shop, followed by a special live performance.

Following on from the overwhelming reception received by their previous effort By the River (see below), the rapper has once again collaborated with Leech Video for the short film.

Stepmother will be the second visual instalment from Nelson’s debut project expected later this year.

Looking beyond Liverpool, Stepmother deals with themes of identity, racism and integration in modern Britain and will be accompanied by a short documentary, and live performances of unreleased music.

Having started rapping at just nine years old, Nelson honed his skills writing in detention throughout his school days, and has been making waves in the UK hip hop scene for the past couple of years, performing shows with the likes of Ghostface Killah, The Pharcyde, Loyle Carner, Pharaohe Monch, and Chali 2na.

With more shows lined up and his debut project coming later this year, make sure you stay tuned!

MC Nelson premieres his new video Stepmother at 7pm at Lost Art Skate Shop on Saturday 7th April. Tickets are free but booking is required in advance. Click here for details.
